Mobile Library to visit Halcon fortnightly

From June,  Taunton's mobile Library will visit Halcon every two weeks. On May 17th, the library will be present outside the Link Centre from 1pm till 3pm but in June the visits will be the 3rd and 17th from 11am till 12.30pm and continue fortnightly. Good news for those not wishing to travel to the town centre. Not only are you able to borrow books but also  CD's and DVD's. You are also able to use the on-board PC's with access to the internet.

Acorns Children’s Centre

Thieves broke into the Acorns Children's Centre on April 16th last and stole a quantity of expensive cabling as well as causing damage. I am afraid it means that the opening of the Centre which was due in mid May has had to be delayed, probably until August. Staff and parents were all looking forward to benefitting from the improved Centre and must feel very sad if not angry that someone should vandalise the building in this way. One could in fact say that the real losers are the young children who would be using the building and taking advantage of all the extra facilities being offered. Sergeant Andy Murphy has asked anyone who has information to contact Taunton Police on 0845 4567000 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
